Aberdeen Standard Global Absolute Return Strategies:

Aberdeen Standard Investments have confirmed that Guy Stern, manager of the group’s Global Absolute Return fund, is set to retire in February 2019.   Stern will be replaced by Aymeric Forest as Global Head of Multi-Asset Investing.  The managers will work alongside one another until Stern’s retirement date to “ensure a seamless transition for clients”.

 

Columbia Threadneedle Global Opportunities Bond:

Columbia Threadneedle is to close their Global Opportunities Bond fund on the 14th December, just three years after its launch in February 2015.  The fund had lost 4.8% over three years and was run by Adrian Hilton who joined Columbia Threadneedle in June 2016.

 

Invesco Global Opportunities:

Joe Dowling is to become co-manager on the Invesco Global Opportunities fund on 30th November.   He joins lead manager Stephen Anness and co-manager Andrew Hall, having worked with the firm since 2013 as a Global Equities Analyst.  There will be no change to the investment objective, philosophy, or investment process.

 

Kames Fixed Income Team:

Kames Capital has seen a wave of departures from its Fixed Income Team, including co-Head of Fixed Income Stephen Snowden and Head of High Yield David Ennett.  Fund managers Stephen Baines and Juan Valenzuela are also leaving the business to pursue other interests.

Grace Le will join existing co-manager Euan McNeil on the Investment Grade Bond and Investment Grade Global Bond funds, Rory Sandilands will become co-manager with existing manager Colin Finlayson on the Absolute Return Bond fund and Finlayson also becomes co-manager on the Strategic Bond and Strategic Global Bond funds with current co-manager Alex Pelteshki.

Jack Holmes and Mark Benbow will co-manage the High Yield Bond and Short Dated High Yield Bond funds, while Benbow will also be promoted as co-manager on the High Yield Global Bond fund alongside Holmes.

 

Argonaut Pan European Alpha:

The Argonaut Pan European Alpha fund, run by Argonaut founder Barry Norris and deputy Greg Bennett, is closing on 18th December. The closure follows a tumultuous period for the fund, which was launched in 2005 when Norris co-founded Argonaut Capital as a joint venture with Britannic Asset Management, later known as Resolution then Ignis.
