Jupiter Global Managed:

Stephen Mitchell, manager of the Jupiter Global Managed fund and Head of Strategies for Global Equities, has left the group, leaving responsibility for the Global Managed fund to Stuart Cox on an interim basis.  Cox has been Mitchell’s assistant on the fund for the past 3 years and has previously managed Japanese equity portfolios.

 

Janus Henderson Global Equity:

The Janus Henderson World Select fund is to be merged into the Janus Henderson Global Equity fund, taking the latter’s name; subject to shareholder approval.  Management of the Global Equity fund will remain with Ian Warmerdam, who has been running the portfolio since 2009.

 

Columbia Threadneedle Asian Equity:

Vanessa Donegan, Head of Asian Equities at Columbia Threadneedle and manager of their Asia and China Opportunities funds, will be retiring in December 2018 after 32 years at the firm.  Management of the Asia fund will be handed over to George Gosden and Soo Nam Ng, whilst the China Opportunities will be passed to Jin Xiu; who has been Donegan’s deputy on the 1st October 2018.

 

Aviva Investors:

Aviva investors has appointed eight equity fund managers from Standard Life Aberdeen, including two sector heads, and a manager from Tesco Pension Investment.  Mikhail Zverev and Alistair Way will join as Head of Global Equities and Head of Global Emerging Market Equities respectively.  Furthermore, Jaime Ramos Martin, Stephanie Niven and Ross Mathison will join as global equities portfolio managers, with Jonathan Toub and Will Malcom joining as managers on their global emerging markets team.

 

Franklin Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust:

Andrew Ness, previously of Martin Currie, has been hired by Franklin Templeton as a portfolio manager on the Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust (TEMIT).  Ness will work alongside current lead manager Chetan Sehgal, who has been running the trust since January this year.

 

Waverton UK Equity Income:

Smith & Williamson’s Tineke Frikkee, who has been running their UK Equity Income fund for 5 years is leaving the group to join Waverton Investment Management on their UK Equities team.  Responsibility for the Smith & Williamson UK Equity Income fund will be handed over to Mark Swain, the fund’s current deputy.

 

Investec Global Gold:

Hanré Rossouw has stepped down as manager of the Investec Global Gold fund, with sole responsibilities passed to George Cheveley, who has been co-managing the fund alongside Rossouw since April 2015.
