Manager News – September 2018

AXA Framlington Blue Chip Equity Income:

Simon Young, former manager of the Aviva Investors UK Equity fund, has been appointed as manager of the AXA Framlington Blue Chip Equity Income fund.  The AXA fund had previously been managed by Jamie Forbes-Wilson since February 2009, who also manages the AXA Distribution fund range.  Young’s appointment will allow Forbes-Wilson to concentrate on the Distribution funds, working alongside co-manager Matthew Huddart.


Invesco Asian & Emerging Markets Equity:

Invesco is merging their Asian and Emerging Market Equity desks in preparation of departures of fund managers Stuart Parks and Dean Newman.  Parks currently manages the Invesco Pacific and Asian Equity funds and will be retiring summer 2019, whilst Newman manages the Invesco Global Emerging Markets, Latin American and Emerging Markets Equity funds and will retire in January 2019.  Responsibility for the combined team and fund management duties has fallen to William Lam and Ian Hargreaves.


Man GLG Fixed Interest:

Manager of the Schroders High Yield Opportunities fund, Michael Scott, is leaving the group after 12 years at Schroders to join Man GLG, leaving joint responsibility for the fund to co-mangers Daniel Pearson and Konstantin Leidman.  Scott will remain at Schroders until the end of 2018, at which point he will become a portfolio manager within Man GLG’s credit business.  Man GLG has hired Scott to develop an unconstrained global high yield credit strategy at the group.
