Manager News – October 2020

Liontrust:  5th October 2020

Somerset Capital has taken over Liontrust’s Asian Income fund, with managers Carolyn Chan, Mark Williams, and Shashank Savla all moving across to join Somerset.  Liontrust will also close their European Income and Macro Thematic strategies, the former being merged into their European Growth fund and the latter being split between the Income and UK Growth funds, with the current managers of both closing mandates leaving the group.


BNY Mellon Global Emerging Markets:  5th October 2020

Rob Marshall-Lee will step down from managing the firm’s Global Emerging Markets, Asian Equity and Oriental funds from the 30th October 2020.  He will leave BNY Mellon the following month after ensuring a smooth hand over to his deputy Sophia Whitbread and Paul Birchenough and Ian Smith, who have both been hired from AXA Investment Managers.


Jupiter US Smaller Companies Trust:  9th October 2020

Robert Siddles has announced that he plans to retire from his duties as manager of the Jupiter US Smaller Companies Trust by the end of April 2021.  The board are uncertain of the trust’s future management at this point and will be making another announcement at a later date.


Man GLG Japan:  15th October 2020

The Head of Japanese Equities for Man GLG, Stephen Harker, and Neil Edwards will both retire on the 31st March 2021.  Responsibility for the Japan Core Alpha fund Harker and Edwards co-managed will be passed to Jeff Atherton.


EdenTree Chief Investment Officer (CIO):  21st October 2020

EdenTree’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Robin Hepworth is to step back from his role with Sue Round taking his place temporarily until a permanent replacement has been appointed.  Hepworth will remain with the group, focusing on property and he will also step down to a supporting role on the group’s Higher Income fund, with Chris Hiorns becoming the lead manager.
