Baillie Gifford Japan Trust:
Baillie Gifford’s Sarah Whitley, Partner and Head of the Japanese Equities team, is to step down from the managing the Baillie Gifford Japan Trust on the 30th April 2018. Following Whitley’s retirement Matthew Brett will take over as Lead Portfolio Manager, supported by Praveen Kumar as Deputy Portfolio Manager; with Brett also continuing to manage the Baillie Gifford Japan trust.
Baillie Gifford Fixed Income:
Stephen Rodger and Ken Barker of Baillie Gifford are to step down from the firm on the 30th April 2018. Torcail Stewart will remain manager on the Baillie Gifford Corporate Bond fund, which he has co-managed alongside Rodger since 2010. Meanwhile, Ken Barker who joined the group as a fixed income manager, will step down after spending 16 years with the firm.
BennBridge has launched Tellworth Investments, the boutique led by former Schroders fund managers Paul Marriage and John Warren, with £385 million in assets under management. BennBridge will manage the Schroders SARFCO UK Dynamic Absolute Return fund and Schroders SAS UK Dynamic Absolute Return fund, as part of the partnership with Tellworth.
GAM UK Diversified and Global Diversified:
From 1 January 2018 Andrew Green will step down as lead portfolio manager of the GAM UK Diversified and GAM Global Diversified funds. Chris Morrison and Adrian Gosden will co-manage the UK Diversified fund while Ali Miremadi will manage the Global Diversified fund. Green will continue to manage a few select mandates and will provide advice and support to GAM’s equity teams in his new role of Director of Global Equities Strategy.
