Manager News – May 2020

Invesco UK Equity Income:

Mark Barnett, the manager of the Invesco High Income, Income and UK Strategic Income funds has left the group. Responsibility for these mandates will pass to James Goldstone and Ciaran Mallon, who will become co-managers on these three funds.

Kames Sustainable Equity:

Craig Bonthron, Neil Goddin, Jonathan Parsons and Ryan Smith have all left Kames Capital, where they were members of their Sustainable Equity team, to join Artemis. Bonthron and Goddin co-managed the Kames Global Sustainable Equity and Global funds, resulting in a reshuffle in management at the firm.

Baillie Gifford Global Equity:

Baillie Gifford has announced that Charles Plowden, who currently co-manages the group’s Global Alpha Growth and International funds, as well as the Monks Investment Trust, is set to retire next April, to ensure a smooth transition to his successor; Malcolm MacColl. In addition, James Anderson, who is the lead manager of the Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust, will step back from the Long Term Global Growth team to focus more of his attention on the trust.

Canaccord Hargreave Hale UK Equity:

Giles Hargreave is to step back from day-to-day management of the Marlborough Special Situations, UK Micro Cap and Nano Cap funds, with Eustace Santa Barbara and Guy Feld, who were co-managers alongside Hargreave, becoming joint managers on all three funds. Hargreave will remain with Canaccord Hargreave Hale in an advisory capacity.

M&G Credit Income:

Jeremy Richards has left M&G, where he managed their Credit Income Trust fund, having joined the group in 1983 and served as their Head of Internal funds. Adam English, who has been the deputy manager on the trust, will replace Richards as lead manager.

ASI UK Equity:

Andrew Hunt has been dropped as lead manager of the ASI UK Recovery Equity fund, with responsibility passing to Wesley McCoy; who currently manages their UK Unconstrained Equity fund.

Jupiter European Equities:

Cedric de Fonclare has left Jupiter, where he ran their European Special Situations and JGF European Opportunities funds, with recent hires Mark Hislop and Mark Nicholls assuming responsibility for both portfolios.
