Brandeaux Funds Update - April 2010 (part 1) Sterling Limited
Brandeaux has fully re-opened the Sterling (dual asset) fund, with all existing shareholders being converted into the new “A” share class. This fund invests in a combination of student accommodation assets (circa 60%) and ground rent and reversionary property (circa 40%). This exposure is gained through the Brandeaux Student Accommodation (Sterling) and Brandeaux Ground Rent Income funds.
The student accommodation fund is performing above its target range, with returns of 10.27% over the past year, whilst the ground rent assets are steadily rising, having returned 4.29% over the past year, and as such the Sterling fund has returned 7.88% over this period (Source: Brandeaux Limited, Total Return, net of charges, 31st March 2009 to 31st March 2010). During the period of suspension, the Sterling fund delivered positive performance despite the unprecedented turmoil that has plagued the financial world.
Brandeaux believe the outlook for both asset classes is positive and the fund should continue to perform well over 2010. The Sterling fund is popular due to its exposure to both student accommodation and ground rent assets, which appeals to investors who want diversification within their portfolios.
