Manager Changes - September 2009 Baring India:
Kommera Chakradhar Reddy has been appointed as Head of Indian Equities at Baring Asset Management. Joining from ABN Amro where Reddy was the Chief Investment Officer, he will be responsible for managing the group’s exposure to Indian equities across its retail and institutional fund ranges.
Jupiter Asia:
Phillip Ehrmann has stepped down from running the Jupiter Asian fund to focus on the Jupiter China fund. Ben Surtees, manager of the Jupiter Asia Pacific and Asia ex Japan segment of the Jupiter Global Managed fund has been appointed as Ehrmann’s successor.
Henderson New Star Property:
Ainslie McLennan has been appointed as the co-manager of the Henderson New Star UK Property fund, where she will work alongside Marcus Langlands Pearse. Pearse became lead manager in April 2009 following Roger Dossett’s decision to leave the group that was formed following Henderson Global Investors acquisition of New Star Investment Managers.
River & Mercantile Global:
River & Mercantile (R&M) plan to launch their first products for the newly formed Global Equities Division following its creation in June 2009. Headed up by Alex Stanic, formerly at Newton Investment Management, R&M have hired Tomas Tomasson from Lazard as a partner and analyst. The new fund launches are the R&M Global Equity and R&M Global Opportunities fund and are expected to be open in October 2009.
Gartmore European:
Eleanor Cameron has been hired by Gartmore from GAM to be a manager in dealing and operations for its European Equity team. Cameron is expected to start in January 2010 along with portfolio manager John Bennett, also from GAM, where he managed the GAM Star Continental European Equity and Star European Equity funds. Additional appointments by Gartmore are Asim Rahman and Christian Billinger, both from GAM as investment analysts and they will work alongside Cameron and Bennett and will also start in January 2010.
