Manager Changes - July 2009 Neptune India:
Shelley Kuhn, who had been running the Neptune India fund since launch in December 2006, will depart the group at the end of the summer 2009 and will head to her native South Africa. Ewan Thompson, manager of the Neptune Emerging Markets fund, will take over responsibility for the India and Asia Pacific Opportunities funds, where he was Kuhn’s deputy.
Franklin Templeton Growth:
Dylan Ball has taken over from Martin Cobb as manager of the Franklin Templeton Growth fund. Cobb is moving from the Edinburgh office to the Toronto office, and while he will no longer be responsible for the Growth fund, he will still manage the Global and UK Equity funds.
Henderson New Star Property:
Roger Dossett, who moved from to Henderson following the acquisition of New Star in April 2009, is to leave the group to pursue other property interests. Mark Carpenter will succeed Dossett on the UK Property and International Property Trust funds.
Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) UK Mid Cap Growth:
Leigh Himsworth, current manager of the Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) UK Mid Cap Growth fund, has been poached by Gartmore and will be joining the group in the autumn 2009. Himsworth joined Royal London from Rensburg Sheppards in 2006 and has been a star performer, significantly out-performing his benchmark. Derek Mitchell has been lined up as Himsworth’s replacement, and currently Mitchell is the manager of the RLAM UK Special Situations Trust fund.
RWC US Long/Short:
RWC have raided Threadneedle, SAC Capital and JP Morgan to build a team for manager Mike Corcell to manage his new US Long/Short funds. The RWC US Absolute Alpha fund is due to launch in October 2009 for Corcell, who used to manage Threadneedle’s US Crescendo hedge fund. Gabe Marshank formerly at SAC Capital, Alex Robarts of Threadneedle and Sam Weeman from JP Morgan have all been recruited to assist Corcell.
