Manager Changes - August 2008 Baring Pacific:
Barings is changing the name, focus and manager of its Pacific fund. The fund will be renamed the Baring ASEAN Frontiers fund with the focus shifting to South East Asian economies. Henry Chan, Head of Asian investments at Barings, will step down as manager and will pass responsibility to SooHai Lim. Chan will stay as Head of Asian investments with the firm.
Deka Lux-Pazifik:
The manager of the Deka Lux-Pazifik fund, Guido Stiel has left the group to join RCM, the investment arm of Allianz Global Investors. Stiel was a portfolio manager and a behavioural financial analyst at Deka and will now work on the Emerging Markets desk at RCM.
SWIP Asia Pacific:
Tim Dickson has left SWIP (Scottish Widows Investment Partnership) where he was lead manager of the Asia Pacific fund, as well as a number of Asia ex Japan mandates. He was also the Investment Director on the Global Emerging Markets and Asian desks. Dickson will join Invesco Perpetual on their Asian Equities team.
Gartmore Chief Investment Officer:
Gartmore has hired Dominic Rossi as its new Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Rossi joins from Threadneedle where he spent 11 and was Head of Equities. Sarah Arkle, CIO at Threadneedle, will assume the role as Head of Equity on an interim basis.
